Warranty
Last updated: 21 July 2026
This limited warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable. It covers products purchased from the official Liland store, and applies in addition to — and does not limit — your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Warranty Periods
| Product | What is covered | Period |
|---|---|---|
| Height-adjustable standing desks | Metal frame & structural components, mechanical parts, motors & lifting columns, control box, handset & other electronics | 5 years |
| Fixed & gaming desks | Metal frame and legs, structural components & hardware | 10 years |
| Ergonomic chairs — structure | Chair frame, base & backrest structure and main support components | 5 years |
| Ergonomic chairs — moving parts | Mechanisms (tilt, recline, lift), armrests, casters, gas lift, seat foam & moving parts | 3 years |
| Desktops & table tops | Structural integrity under normal use; surface lamination peeling due to manufacturing defects | 5 years |
| Accessories (cable trays, monitor risers, CPU holders, etc.) | Materials & workmanship | 2 years |
| Gaming peripherals — ATK (keyboards & mice) | Defects in materials and workmanship: unresponsive keys or switches, sensor failure, wireless (2.4 GHz dongle / Bluetooth) or wired connectivity failure. Warranty replacement units are brand new. Consumable parts (keycaps, mouse feet/skates, grip tape, cables) are not covered against normal wear — only where defective on arrival, reported within 3 days of delivery. Software or configuration issues (e.g. ATK HUB settings) are resolved through troubleshooting and are not hardware defects. | 12 months |
| Apparel — Hello Kitty and Friends | Manufacturing defects only: seams, stitching, zips, fasteners and printing faults present on delivery or appearing under normal use with correct care | 90 days |
| Pet apparel — KUWOOF | Manufacturing defects only (as above). Damage caused by chewing, scratching or other pet activity is not a defect. | 90 days |
If a specific product page states a longer period for that model, the longer coverage applies.
2. What Is Not Covered
- Normal wear and tear (minor scratches, colour fading, foam softening, fabric pilling)
- Improper installation or assembly, or use of non-original parts
- Improper maintenance or cleaning — including washing apparel contrary to its care label or using harsh chemicals
- Misuse, abuse, rough handling, negligence or accidents (impacts, drops, liquid, fire, environmental damage)
- Use exceeding the rated load, height range or duty cycle
- Modifications or alterations, including cutting or re-sewing apparel
- Pet damage to pet apparel (chewing, scratching, pulling)
- Peripheral consumable wear — worn mouse feet, keycap shine, cosmetic wear from use — and gradual battery capacity reduction from normal use (standard use of hot-swap switch sockets is not a modification)
- Commercial use where a product is specified as "home use only"
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect normal function, except under the Cosmetic Damage on Arrival standard in Section 3
3. Cosmetic Damage on Arrival — Compensation Standard (Desks & Chairs)
This standard applies only to cosmetic damage present on arrival and reported within 3 days of delivery, where the product has no functional fault or structural safety issue and you agree to keep it with partial compensation. Compensation is calculated on the amount actually paid for the affected product (excluding shipping, installation or other service fees). If one product has multiple cosmetic issues, the highest single applicable standard applies — amounts are not stacked. If the issue involves lifting, motors, control box, gas lift, recline, tilt, load-bearing, structural cracking or any safety risk, this standard does not apply and we will assess repair, replacement or refund instead. This standard does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
3.1 Desks
| Damage on arrival | Compensation |
|---|---|
| Minor scratches/scuffs: each ≤1 cm, 3 or fewer marks, not obvious at normal use distance | No compensation — cleaning/care advice |
| Dents/paint chips 1–2 cm (1–3 marks) | 3% |
| Dents/paint chips 1–2 cm (more than 3 marks), or 2–5 cm (1–3 marks) | 5% |
| Dents/paint chips 2–5 cm (more than 3 marks), or a single mark 5–10 cm | 7% |
| Single mark >10 cm or continuous area >25 cm²; or more than 5 marks with at least 3 over 2 cm | 10% |
| Severe cosmetic damage on the main desktop surface (>10 cm or >25 cm²) | 12% |
| Edge banding lift/crack ≤5 cm (does not affect use) | 7% |
| Edge banding lift/crack 5–10 cm (does not affect use) | 10% |
| Edge banding lift/crack >10 cm, or core material clearly exposed (no structural safety issue) | 15% |
| Desk leg / metal frame scratches ≤2 cm (3 or fewer, no sharp edge or deformation) | 0–3% (subject to approval) |
| Desk leg / frame marks 2–5 cm, or more than 3 marks (no functional fault) | 5% |
| Obvious paint chip/dent on leg or frame >5 cm (lifting, load-bearing and stability unaffected) | 7% |
3.2 Chairs (by module)
Chair modules: headrest, backrest, seat cushion, armrests (left + right = one module), footrest, base/five-star leg, casters (full set = one module), decorative covers/shells.
| Situation | Compensation |
|---|---|
| 1 module with cosmetic or local damage, no functional fault | 5% |
| 2 modules affected | 10% |
| 3 or more modules, or clearly abnormal overall condition | Capped at 10% — or we will offer part replacement, product replacement or return instead |
| Minor loose threads (no seam opening, no fraying) | No compensation — carefully trim the thread |
| Open seam / fraying / stitching separation (no safety or functional impact) | 5% per affected module, capped at 10% |
3.3 Not Compensable
- Minor marks on hidden areas (undersides, inner frames, assembly contact areas) not visible in normal use
- Normal material variation — wood grain, texture, slight colour or fabric-direction variation, minor moulding marks
- Wear and tear, or any damage caused after delivery (assembly, moving, cleaning, misuse, pets, liquid, heat, modification, poor return packaging)
- Claims without sufficient evidence: clear close-up photos, a photo with a ruler or reference object, and a photo from normal use distance are required; for transit damage, also photos of the outer carton and packaging
4. Remedies for Defective Products
If a product or part is found defective in materials or workmanship within the warranty period, we will, at our option: repair the product or part; provide a replacement of equal or comparable value; or, if repair and replacement are not practical, refund the original purchase price upon return of the product. Replaced parts or products may be new or refurbished and are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period.
5. Shipping for Warranty Claims
- Approved replacement parts and products ship free of charge within mainland Australia via our carrier partners (e.g. Australia Post, Allied Express).
- Expedited shipping is available if you agree to pay the additional cost.
- For addresses outside mainland Australia, shipping charges are your responsibility.

7. Limitation of Liability
Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, implied warranties are limited to the duration of the express periods above, and Liland shall not be liable for incidental, indirect, special or consequential damages — including loss of profits or revenue, business interruption or loss of data — arising from any breach of warranty. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they may not apply to you.
8. Governing Law & Your Consumer Rights
This warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
